I believe this is Hulkamania running wild on Gawker. They know they’re gonna get reemed financially by Theil, and all the belt tightening has begun.

In retrospect, maybe we were a little hard on Jalopnik for Mate’s departure. If it’s ultimately unavoidable, good talent should be put on the open market ASAP, to be given the opportunity to find the best future engagements.

I don’t blame Jalopnik for what happened to Mate, I blame Gawker and Denton as they’re the ones ultimately made that decision.
